The BBL gets underway in Perth as the Scorchers take on Melbourne Stars on Sunday but this match between Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades will be an excellent marker of what both sides are capable of and what we can expect at the SCG.
Sydney Sixers' success over recent seasons has been built on the strength of their top order batting and with a top three of James Vince, Daniel Hughes and Josh Philippe, that could well be an area where they are too hot to handle once again this season. Moises Henriques and Jordan Silk has been a season campaigner for the Sixers from the past few season. Hayden kerr would also contribute with his All-round skill. With the ball, Jackson Bird has long been a top performer in the BBL and he, along with the skilful Ben Dwarshuis, are likely to be the opening pair for Sydney Sixers once again in this game.
Melbourne renegades would bank highly on their Top order with the likes of Josh Brown and Jake Fraser McGurk opening the batting for the side. Tim Seifert and Laurie Evans would surely add to the fire power for the Renegades. With the exception of the Australian international, and with Jacob Bethell on international duty with England, Melbourne Renegades will be looking to the likes of Laurie Evans to turn up and make a match winning innings in this game. Adam Zampa remains one of the best T20 spin bowlers in the world and Tom Rogers has bowled plenty of special spells across his BBL career!
