Its time for Big Bash Action for the Year 2024. Welcome for the 1st Match between the Host Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars at Perth Stadium. Perth Scorchers has been one of the most consistent team in the History of the league and would surely would like to carry this legacy in this season also. On the other hand Melbourne Stars would like to begin the tournament on a high under the leadership of Star All-Rounder Marcus Stoinis. 

First things first, a few players are missing from this squad for the opening game. Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis are part of the Australia squad for the Test series against India. Perth Scorchers definately looked a more balanced side with Fin Allen and Jeanings at the top of the order with Copper Connolly and Hurst coming in the Middle order . Skipper Ashton Turner is well-known for his big-hitting and will be in the finisher’s role in the lower middle order. And while there is no Laurie Evans this year, they’ve got Finn Allen who can deliver a big start for the Scorchers. Melbourne Stars would begin their campaign under the Leadership of Marcus Stoinis as he has been named as the Permanent Captain for the side. They will be missing their former skipper Glenn Maxwell in this game along with the English batter Ben Duckett. They also have Scott Boland in the squad who’s currently part of the Australia squad for the BGT series. Hilton Cartwright and skipper Marcus Stoinis will be responsible for striking crucial partnerships in the middle and leading the side to a competitive total. In the opener, it will be up to the likes of Mark Steketee, Joel Paris, and Tom Curran to lead with the bat.
