Greenfield International Stadium, also known as The Sports Hub and previously called the Trivandrum International Stadium, is a world-class multi-purpose sports venue in Kerala, India. It is mainly used for cricket and football, and is located in the Kariavattom neighborhood of Thiruvananthapuram city.

📍 Location & Construction

  • Built on 36 acres of land leased from the University of Kerala for ₹94 lakh (US$146,527.23) per year for 15 years.
  • The stadium is designed to international standards, making it one of India’s most modern multi-use sports complexes.

⚽ Football History

  • The first international football tournament hosted was the 2015 SAFF Championship.
  • India won the title, defeating Afghanistan 2–1 in the final.
  • This event put the stadium on the global map for international football.

  • The venue hosted its first One Day International (ODI) on 1 November 2018.
  • Since then, it has become an important cricket venue in India, hosting multiple international matches and IPL fixtures.
