Takashinga Sports Club, located in Highfield, Harare, Zimbabwe, is one of the most iconic and historically significant cricket clubs in Zimbabwe. Founded in 1990 by Givemore Makoni and Stephen Mangongo, the club was initially known as Old Winstonians and aimed to provide cricketing opportunities to the black community in Zimbabwe. In 2001, it was renamed Takashinga, meaning “we are brave and we will fight all the way” in Shona, reflecting the club’s identity and spirit. The club has produced some of Zimbabwe’s finest cricketers, including Andy Flower, Tatenda Taibu, Hamilton Masakadza, and Prosper Utseya.

The stadium is part of the Zimbabwe grounds in Highfield and has grown to become a major hub for cricket development. It was selected as a venue for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Qualifier, hosting its first ODI on 18 June 2023 between West Indies and the United States. Since then, it has hosted five ODIs, gaining international recognition.
