Australia return to home soil for a late-season ODI series against New Zealand in which the hosts will be desperate to end their current 50-over losing streak. The first match of this series takes place at the SCG on March 13, and the live action is scheduled to start at 14:30 local time.
Australia have lost their last five ODIs, including three heavy defeats to South Africa, but are hopeful a home series can see them wrap up the summer on a high note. They beat New Zealand at the World Cup, however, and have a dominant record in this fixture.
New Zealand have won their only three matches since the World Cup final defeat to England on the other hand, beating India 3-0 in their most recent bilateral series thanks to some excellent batting performances.

New Zealand chased twice upon winning the toss in their series against India, and they may want to field first again in this match.
Though it is set to get worse over the weekend, the first match of this series looks set to be played in sunny, warm and dry conditions.
The SCG always offers turn, and the late-season wicket could mean that is even more the case.
South Africa has arrived on Indian shores for a short tour comprising three one-day internationals. The opening ODI is scheduled to be played on March 12 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. The live telecast of the match will begin at 1:30 PM local time.
TV channels: Star Sports, Sky Sports Cricket, SuperSport, Fox Sports, OSN Sports Cricket HD, Gazi TV
Live Streaming: Bet365, Hotstar, SuperSport Live, Now TV
The venue has hosted four one-day internationals to date out of which three have been won by the side bowling first, and with rain threat looming large, the toss-winning captain will most probably opt to field first.
The weather for this first ODI does not look good as thundershowers have been forecast for Thursday all day long. There is a 70% chance of rain in the morning which means we could have a delayed start and possibly lose some overs as well.
Dharamsala has mostly witnessed even contests between bat and ball when it comes to the game's fifty-over format. Being located at a high altitude, the ball travels faster here which makes it easier for the batsmen to hit boundaries. However, wet conditions on Thursday will mean ample swing and seam for the pacers, particularly with the new ball.

The ICC World Cup 2019 semi-final lineup is set and the four best teams of the tournament have made it through. Fans of Pakistan might disagree with that since they ended up on the same points as New Zealand in the end and had actually beaten it in their head to head encounter but that is a discussion for another time.
The first semi-final of the ICC World Cup 2019 is going to be played between India and New Zealand. India finished at the top of the table and lost just one game in its entire campaign. New Zealand finished fourth and was slightly lucky to have scraped through to the semi-final on the basis of net run-rate.
Interestingly, the only game that was washed out for both India and New Zealand was against each other. They played against each other in a warm-up game before the start of the actual World Cup 2019, a match that was won by New Zealand.
India comes into this match full of confidence with most of its players in form while New Zealand comes after three straight defeats in its last three matches.
India vs New Zealand ICC World Cup 2019 semi-final is going to be played at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester.
We are already a week into the World Cup and things are still very much open as far as the points table is concerned. Both Sri Lanka and Pakistan have a poor net run-rate with one win to their name and will be looking to rise up the ladder in the coming matches. Considering the way things have gone for the two sides, they both look on par with each other. However, Pakistan have a better-settled unit with more experience available at their disposal and are coming on the back of a win over a more formidable team. Due to that as well as the aforementioned reasons, we think the men in green are better placed to emerge on top in the upcoming fixture.
The toss is going to play a big role in this match. A small ground where defending a total is tough already provides a big advantage to the chasing side. Add rain to the equation and that advantage grows even more.
We think that Australia has the bowling attack to be able to stop the West Indian batsmen or at least limit the damage that they can cause. Both sides have a strong batting lineup and so the bowling could well be the differentiating factor.
Bet on Australia to win.
Considering the results of the first two matches of the tournament, England certainly look to be firm favorites to win the upcoming encounter. Having said that, one game is too little a sample size to come to a conclusion about how things are going to unfold going ahead in the tournament. England are coming off a 4-0 victory over Pakistan in same conditions which will certainly inflate the hosts' confidence. Both the sides are well aware of the strength and weaknesses of each other it isn't going to be easy for either of the sides. While the two sides have a bowling unit that is on par, England definitely score higher when it comes to batting. They have the home advantage and that coupled with the reasons mentioned above make England firm favorites to come on top in the upcoming encounter.
South Africa vs Bangladesh ICC World Cup 2019 ODI match is going to be played at the Kennington Oval, London. The weather in London on match day is expected to be a bit cloudy but the chance of rain falling is very low.
The pitch at the Oval was bouncy but did not have the pace that it usually does. The groundsman would have had a couple of days in between matches to fix that and we could see an even better batting surface in this match.
A score of 330 seems to be the minimum that teams need to aim for batting first.
We are within a day of the inaugural game of the much-awaited first game of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 where South Africa is set to take on the hosts, England. Going ahead in the tournament, we have Afghanistan taking on Australia in an all-important encounter which may not look as engrossing on paper but may well turn out to be a cracker of an encounter. The two teams are set to meet each other on 1st May in the fourth World Cup encounter at County Ground, Bristol. Not long ago, Afghanistan and Australia had plenty of daylight between them as far as the difference in ODI rankings is concerned. While the difference is still there, it has definitely bridged by some margin, if not completely. The kind of format this World Cup is being played in, no team can afford to take their opponents lightly. Such is going to be the case once again and despite daylight of a difference between the two sides, we expect a cracker of a contest.
New Zealand vs Sri Lanka ICC World Cup 2019 match is going to be played at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. A cloudy day has been forecast for match day in Cardiff. That usually means some movement with the new ball and so winning the toss to make the most of the conditions will be critical.
The pitch at Sophia Gardens is good for batting and we think it should flatten out after the first few overs and favor the batsmen. The spinners find the going tough at the venue and that is something that could help New Zealand.
What to expect: The weather is set fair for the game although plenty of cloud cover is forecast, keeping temperatures cool. The pitch, as ever in Nottingham, is expected to be excellent for batting which means there will be plenty of runs on offer.
Team News
West Indies: Will West Indies opt for all-out pace and pick both Oshane Thomas and Shannon Gabriel or will one of them sit out for the left-armer Sheldon Cottrell? Given the expected cloud cover and Cottrell's ability to swing the ball, he may get the nod. Ashley Nurse will be the lone spin option.
Possible XI: Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Shai Hope, Darren Bravo, Shimron Hetmeyer, Andre Russell, Jason Holder, Ashley Nurse, Sheldon Cottrell, Oshane Thomas, Kemar Roach
Pakistan: Pakistan have to decide which combination of bowlers they will go with and whether to exclude the experienced pair of Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik. Imad Wasim's batting prowess means he is likely to play alongside Shahdab Khan as the second spinner while Shaheen Afridi, the pick of Pakistan's quicks of late, will lead the attack, probably with Mohammad Amir.
Possible XI: Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Haris Sohail, Sarfraz Ahmed, Shoaib Malik, Imad Wasim, Shahdab Khan, Mohammad Amir, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Afridi
Did you know?
- Pakistan have lost 21 of the 32 ODIs they have played since their 2017 Champions Trophy triumph, and won only nine (2 no-results). Their current losing streak is 10 games.
- Babar Azam's scores against West Indies read: 120, 123, 117, 13, 125* & 16
- Shai Hope is the leading run-getter in ODIs since October 2018 with 1132 runs in 17 innings that included five centuries, at an average of 80.85.
New Zealand and India have now played 97 one-day internationals against each other with the latter leading the scoreline 52-44. One of those encounters has produced a tie.
India has now won four of the last five one-day internationals they have played against New Zealand, including the most recently played three.
In the first match of the ongoing series, India shot out New Zealand for 157 in 38 overs before knocking off their target inside 35 overs to seal a comfortable eight-wicket victory.
New Zealand has never faced India in a fifty-over contest at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
Matches Played: 97; New Zealand Won: 44; India Won: 52; Tie: 1
With temperatures hoving around 20 degrees throughout the day and negligible chances of rain, it's going to be a perfect day to play. The surface at Mt Maunganui is better suited for spin bowling which is helped the relatively larger boundaries. The last ODI played here more than six hundred runs in total and we can expect yet another run-feast for the batsmen. Considering the batting fire-power available at disposal for both the sides, the team batting first will be looking to put at least 320 runs on the board.
Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, Kane Williamson (c), Ross Taylor, Tom Latham (wk), Henry Nicholls/Colin de Grandhomme, Mitchell Santner, Doug Bracewell, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult

Pakistan was bowled out cheaply in Durban and could only manage 203 runs. And that was after Hasan Ali played a cracking knock lower down the order and scored a brisk 59 from just 45 balls to take the score beyond 200
Quinton de Kock is back in the Proteas set-up along with speedster Dale Steyn. Duanne Olivier will be the man making way for Steyn while it will be Heinrich Klassen out for de Kock. Rassie van der Dussen, with the kind of form he has been in, is expected to make it into the eleven. It will be either one among Reeza Hendricks or Aiden Markram who will get in at four. Beuran Hendricks might get an opportunity in the eleven.
Predicted XI: Hashim Amla, Quinton de Kock (WK), Rassie van der Dussen, Reeza Hendricks/Aiden Markram, Faf du Plessis (C), David Miller, Andile Phehlukwayo, Beuran Hendricks, Kagiso Rabada, Imran Tahir, Dale Steyn.
Pakistan is expected to field pretty much the same eleven from the last match. Imam will open the innings with Fakhar and Babar Azam will follow up next at number three. Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik will take the all-rounder spots. Instead of Imad Wasim, they might go for Hussain Talat or Mohammad Amir. Furthermore, Shoaib Malik is expected to lead the side.
Predicted XI: Imam ul Haq, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Sarfraz Ahmed (c & wk)/Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Hussain Talat/Mohammad Amir, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Afridi.

The side winning the toss is almost certainly going to field first
New Zealand vs India first ODI is going to be played at McLean Park, Napier. The weather forecast for Napier on match day is excellent. There is no threat of rain and we should have an uninterrupted match.
The conditions are expected to be excellent for batting. A Super Smash game in Napier just a few days back so over 200 runs scored in each T20 inning. We can expect a score around 330 to be par in this match.
India should be able to get off to a winning start.
Match Scorecard will be available here.
New Zealand:
Kane Williamson(c), Trent Boult, Doug Bracewell, Colin de Grandhomme, Lockie Ferguson, Martin Guptill, Matt Henry, Tom Latham, Colin Munro, Henry Nicholls, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor

It was always expected that the South Africa vs Pakistan ODI series would be a lot closer than the test matches. After all, even the South African captain had conceded his side was behind Pakistan when it comes to the 50 over format. That may have been some mind games, to be honest, but Pakistan proved those words to be prophetic.
The South Africa vs Pakistan second ODI is going to be played at Kingsmead, Durban. The conditions in Durban are usually excellent for batting while offering some pace and bounce to the bowlers as well. We think run scoring is going to be a lot easier and the South African bowlers will be able to extract some life from the surface as well.
The side winning the toss is going to want to bat first

India is already into the finals, they might change their playing 11 today and give chances to bench players also so that they can play the final with a good team.only one negative point with team India is their openers have always done well due to which other players didn't get the opportunity to prove anything.
Afghanistan never chases the target easily they always want to put 250+ on the board and defend the total. Afghanistan batting is their weak point.in last few matches their one or two players have only scored runs. whereas the Indian team is in brilliant form in all three departments bowling fielding and batting.
so, that's why my prediction says 89% India will today's match.
