The men’s Big Bash League (BBL) is set to begin a new season, and it’s the Thunder vs. the Stars to get things started. The Stars finished sixth on the ladder last season and didn’t make the finals, while the Thunder were third and reached the Knockout round but were defeated by the Strikers.

The Thunder look better than ever with a fantastic batting trio of David Warner, Alex Hales, and Rilee Rossouw, although Warner will play fewer games due to his commitments to the Australia squad. Jason Sangha will captain the side after the departure of Usman Khawaja and there’s also the inclusion of Fazalhaq Farooqi from Afghanistan, although the team lost David Willey after he withdrew from the league after the draft. 

Gurinder Sandhu, Sams and Farooqi makes a perfect Trio for Pace Department with assistance from Green in the spin area. Considering all the factors Thunders looks a more balance out of two teams.

Melbourne Stars will really miss the absence of Glenn Maxwell in the opening game as he is the Pillar of Stars Batting Lineup along side Marcus Stoinis who is also making comeback after being infected with COVID19 with Joe Burns. Batting lineup looks a bit uncertain at the top with lack of experience and with Quality Thunders Bowling attack surely will be taken consideration.

There’s a lot of excitement about fast bowler, Trent Boult, from New Zealand, who is one of the best up-and-coming swing bowlers in the game. He’s likely to be the opening bowler for the Stars in each match. Coulter nile will be his partner sharing the new ball with Boult. Spin Maestro , Adam Zampa will be the skipper of the side and also the leader in Spin Department.

Pace bowlers always do well on this pitch in Canberra, but as opening game we cannot score very high scoring game . Score would be around 140-150 would be challenging.

In Today's Encounter in Big Bash League 2020-21, Sydney Thunders will take on Brisbane Heats at Manuka Oval, Canberra. Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat are the two teams that are in the bottom half of the table. They both have played only one game in the tournament thus far and can pretty much turn things around in the matches to follow. Sydney Thunders do have a Heavy Batting lineup with Usman Khawaja and Alex Hales at the Top of the Order Skipper Callum Ferguson has always been in terrific form in the BBL. Ben Cutting and Daniel Sams are the finishers in the side. Tanveer Sangha and Daniel Sams were brilliant with the ball as they picked up a couple of wickets each without giving a lot away. Chris Green was also good in his second spell after going for 29 in the first two.

Talking about the Brisbane Heats they are a decent side on paper. With Ben Cutting no longer available and Banton pulling out of the tournament, it would be up to Chris Lynn to keep the innings afloat and strike the lofty hits Brisbane Heat. Players like Tom Cooper, Dan Lawrence and Max Bryant also have to take up the responsibility. Batting clearly seems to be the weaker link for Brisbane Heat and they'd need their other batsmen to support Chris Lynn. If Chris Lynn is able to fire, there aren't a lot of bowlers that can stop him. Overall, Brisbane Heat are capable of defeating even the best in the business, but they'd need to put their best foot forward.

Today is a Double Header coming up from Big Bash League 2020-21, In the First Match Sydney Thunders will take on Melbourne Stars who have won their opening Encounter against Heats. The Match will be played at Manuka Oval, Canberra. The Melbourne Stars started with a relatively easy win in the tournament thanks to some terrific bowling and some excellent batting by Glenn Maxwell. Coulter Nile and Dilbar Hussain Bowled really well in the previous game against Heats and didn't let the Heats to take any Momentum. Marcus Stoinis and Fletcher Misses out in the previous outing and wants to get going against Thunders. Zampa, Stanlake and Hinchcliffe also bowled well.

Syndey Thunders also have the power in the Squad capable of winning the Tournament this year. Batting Order of thunders is well equipped with Quality Players such as Usman Khawaja, Alex Hales and Callum Ferguson. If the Batsman can get the Runs on the board early then Sydney Thunder is going to upset a lot of the bigger teams this season as they have the required bowling attacks with Adam Milne, Pacer From New Zealand which can bowl at 150km/ph. Daniel Sams, Chris Tremain, Ben Cutting are some other seam bowling options for the Thunders.

The Second Match of the Big Bash League 2020-21 will be played between Brisbane Heats and Melbourne Stars at Manuka Oval, Canberra. Glenn Maxwell has been in tremendous form against the Indians while Marcus Stoinis has recovered from his injury and should be back at his preferred opening position. Nicolas Pooran Will also be available for the Stars to add power in the Batting Lineup for the Stars. Nic Maddinson, Cartwright and Dunk Forms a lot of Aussie Batting Depth. Nathan Coulter-Nile, Adam Zampa, and Billy Stanlake are excellent bowlers as well. Afghani Zahir Khan might also get a chance for Today's game.

We know what Brisbane Heat brings to the table every season as it puts together a very strong batting lineup led by Chris Lynn. Unfortunately, that strategy has become a bit tired and it is difficult to see how things will turn out to be different for Brisbane Heat this season. Joe Burns and Labuschagne are going to miss initial matches as they are on their Test Duties. Tom Banton has also taken his name back due to Bubble-Fatigue. Tom Cooper, Sam Heazlett, and Jimmy Pierson are some other bowlers that may be asked to step up this season. Mark Steketee, Swepson, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Laughlin form a pretty decent bowling attack.
