Birmingham Phoenix has risen to third in the standings with three wins out of four. It has been one of the most exciting teams to watch in the Hundred 2022 tournament so far and will be playing against the Northern Superchargers next.

Birmingham Phoenix has a strong batting lineup that centers around Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone. Adding Matthew Wade in the middle order is also a good move since it gives them an experienced player to handle the pressure situations. Tom Helm, Benny Howell, Moeen Ali, and Kane Richardson all form an excellent bowling lineup. This is a very smart bowling attack that excels in the shortest format of the game. Also not to be missed is Moeen Ali's captaincy and handling of his bowlers.

The Northern Superchargers have struggled badly in the Hundred this season and the stats tell you quite clearly why. Adam Lyth is the only batter with more than 100 runs to his name so far, not a single batter has a strike rate of more than 200, and the bowling attack is one of the weakest in the competition. Dwayne Bravo, Wahab Riaz, and Roelof van der Merwe are excellent performers of the past. They are all well beyond their best and that is affecting the team's performances. Adil Rashid is also struggling to pick up wickets and that is a massive concern as well.

PITCH AND CONDITIONS

The conditions in Birmingham are expected to be quite good for match day. There is no rain forecast and the pitch should be good for batting. Birmingham scored 176 in the first match played at this venue in 2022 and 145 was chased down with ease in the second one.

Birmingham Phoenix Vs Trent Rockets, 15th Match, The Hundred Men's Competition 2022

We have seen plenty of action-packed cricket already in The Hundred Men's Competition 2022 and we are not even halfway into the league stage. The teams have fought hard and if anything, the competition is going to only grow tougher from here.

Birmingham Bears are currently in a pretty decent position with respect to the standings and how they have done but cannot afford any slip-ups if they want to continue staying in the top half. They are coming off a couple of back to back wins and would want to build on that. However, they would also know that they faced a defeat at the hands of Rockets when the two sides met earlier in the tournament. Birmingham Phoenix had a terrific tournament last time around with Adam Milne doing a handsome job for them with the ball. This year though, for the remainder of the matches, Milne has been ruled out of the competition due to an Achilles injury. While Ben Dwarshius is available as his replacement, he might find it difficult to hit the ground running.

Trent Rockets have not fired at their peak potential yet but they are still pretty much leading the points table with three wins in as many matches. They have already defeated Phoenix earlier in this edition and would be brimming with confidence coming into this match. The Rockets have an excellent side with T20 specialists available right through and that has helped them to perfection up until now. The likes of Alex Hales, Dawid Malan, Tom Kohler Cadmore, and Ian Cockbain have more often than not batted their opponents out of the equation. Besides, they have a pretty good bowling attack too, providing the side with immaculate balance.

PITCH AND CONDITIONS

We have seen only one game played here at this venue thus far in the competition and the team batting second found it difficult to chase down a tall total. The surface here tends to be an excellent one to bat on and with reasonably sized boundaries, batsmen and bowlers will both have something to work with. Batsmen once set should enjoy batting here. Keeping all that into consideration, the team batting first would want to push towards the 170-run mark.
