Brisbane Heats Vs Melbourne Renegades, Match No. 3 , Big Bash League 2022-23
The 2021-22 BBL season was one to forget for both the Heat and Renegades, as these teams finished 7th and 8th on the ladder, respectively. Still, a new season means a fresh start and there’s enough talent to make a run at the title once again.
Melbourne Renegades has tradionally lacked the fire power in the Batting Lineup but keeping this in mind this time Renegades have invested in Andre Russell and Martin Guptill . Finch and Guptill makes a destructive opening pair for the side and any team would fear bowling to them. However, Melbourne has been busy improving the squad in other areas despite Livingstone not playing, as they added great batters like Jonathan Wells and Peter Handscomb, as well as fast bowler Tom Rogers. Plus, there are overseas stars such as Andre Russell and Akeal Hosein to be excited about.
Brisbane Heat will certainly miss the services of Chris Lynn, probably their best batter in the recent times. New Signing of Talented Sam Billings and Ross Whitley will help in building power in the Batting Lineup. Having Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, and Michael Neser is good news, but all three will often be unavailable due to Test duties with Australia. Much of the batting will rely on Matthew Renshaw, who has been performing better and better for Queensland in Sheffield Shield games. He’ll be much needed alongside spinner Mitch Swepson. Neser, Steketee and Bartlett would lead the Bowling attack for the side.
BH VS MLR TOSS PREDICTION
The Renegades seem to favour batting second against the Heat and are 7-2 when this happens, so they may well send in the Heat to bat first if winning the toss.
PITCH AND CONDITIONS
It’s a fairly balanced pitch here that should result in an even match. Expect a total of around 160 for each team.
