In July 2008, Oman Cricket announced plans to construct an international-standard facility at Al Amerat, about 15 kilometres south-east of the centre of the city of Muscat. The cost of the project was initially estimated at 2 million Omani Riyals (US $5.2 million), with the land donated by the Ministry of Sports Affairs and the rest of the funding to be raised through corporate sponsorship.

The venue, known as the Al Amerat Cricket Stadium, was inaugurated in October 2012, by Ashraful Hacque, the chief executive of the Asian. It held its first match – a club game – two months later. Floodlights were installed at the venue in 2015, and there are plans for an indoor academy to be built, to complement the existing academy at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. Oman Cricket Board later announced the construction of pavilions and an indoor state of the art training facility that also houses the HQ for Oman Cricket Board.

Oman and Nepal have both been impressive in this series. The former have the home advantage on their side while the latter are looking in good form. The hosts do have a pretty decent team but they seem to be over-dependent on some of their players to score runs and pick wickets for them. Nepal, on the other hand, are a better balanced team and they have performed collectively as a unit in this series. They even have a stronger bowling group which is another reason why we are backing them to emerge victorious in this encounter.

Compared to Oman, Nepal have a superior bowling attack with the likes of Sandeep Lamichhane, KC Karan and Abinash Bohara.
Nepal have a better balanced side while Oman rely heavily on three or four of their players to win matches for them.
Oman have the advantage of playing in their own conditions and they will be having a much better idea about the nature of the pitch.

There is nothing to choose between these two sides just on the basis of this tournament. Both of them have been in terrible form and have lost all their matches. Overall, though, we believe that the Netherlands has a deeper talent pool and a better chance to win this match.

Bet on Netherlands to win.

Netherland

Netherlands has more players with experience of playing county championship
Hong Kong is perhaps even weaker than the Netherlands in the batting, although, the difference is not too much in these conditions

Oman will be eyeing their third straight win of the tournament when they take on the Netherlands. This eighth fixture of the Oman pentangular T20 international series 2019 will be played on October 9 at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground Oman Cricket (Ministry Turf 1) in Al Amarat. Live telecast of the match is scheduled to begin at 1:30 PM local time.

Oman are having a good time in this series. They have won their first two matches and that too in quite a convincing manner to grab the top spot on the points table. They beat Hong Kong by seven wickets in their opening game before securing a 43-run win over Ireland last time out. Netherlands, on the other hand, have had a disappointing tournament so far. They are yet to register a win and have faced defeats in their first two encounters - against Ireland by six wickets and last time against Nepal by four wickets. It will be interesting to see whether the Dutch will crumble under pressure or bounce back to keep themselves afloat in the series.

PITCH AND CONDITIONS

Oman is not going to throw up any surprises when it comes to the weather. It is going to continue being hot and dry for the duration of this tournament. The pitch is also very predictable in its nature. The batsmen can take advantage of the flat deck but will not have much pace to work with. The spinners can be tough to score against.

MATCH PREDICTION

We think that the Netherlands is going to be able to get the better of Oman in this match, although, the match is not likely to be one-sided.

Bet on the Netherlands to win.

MATCH PREDICTION

With so many international matches going around in a cricketing circuit, this series hasn't garnered much attention. However, there have already been a few closely-contested matches in the tournament so far, which could be the signs for things to come. Nepal's win over Netherlands and Ireland's loss to Oman came as a surprise to many. The upcoming match between Ireland and Nepal promises to be full of surprises. Having said that, we think that the result would be in favor of the team rich in experience and depth in their batting order, that is Ireland. Despite the odds of just 1.33, we think betting on Ireland could prove to be a fruitful decision.

IRE vs NEP Weather Report

Once again, temperatures will ramp up into the 30s from very early in the day in Muscat. As ever, the weather will be typical of Oman – hot, sunny, dry and with zero chance of rain during the match.

IRE vs NEP Pitch Condition

Kevin O’Brien’s onslaught last time out proved there are runs to be had in Muscat, even if an otherwise balanced pitch has seen bowlers take wickets too.

Ireland Team

Paul Stirling, Kevin O’Brien, Andrew Balbirnie, Gareth Delany, Gary Wilson (c, wk), Harry Tector, Stuart Thompson, Mark Adair, Shane Getkate, George Dockrell, Boyd Rankin

Nepal Team

Paras Khadka (c), DS Airee, Sompal Kami, Binod Bhandari (wk), Karan KC, Sandeep Lamichhane, Aarif Sheikh, Abinash Bohara, Rohit Paudel, Lalit Rajbanshi, Pawan Sarraf

Ireland

Nepal have a little too fragile batting lineup, which is a little too over-reliant on Binod Bhandari
Ireland are a better team between the two, both on paper and experience wise
Kevin O' Brien and Mark Adair have been in fantastic form for the Ireland

PITCH AND CONDITIONS

Oman has provided some flat batting wickets with next to nothing in them for the bowlers. The slow nature of the pitch can make batting difficult as well and the new ball seems to be the best time to get quick runs.

The weather will continue to be hot and there is no chance of rain predicted.

MATCH PREDICTION

Ireland may have had a hiccup against Oman but we expect it to bounce back strongly against Jong Kong.

Predicted Playing XI:

Hong Kong  Aarush Bhagwat (wk), Kinchit Shah (c), Nizakat Khan, Raag Kapur, Shahid Wasif, Ahsan Abbasi, Waqas Barkat, Ehsan Khan, Mohammad Ghazanfar, Kyle Christie, and Nasrulla Rana

Ireland  Paul Stirling, Kevin O Brien, Andrew Balbirnie, Harry Tector, Shane Getkate, Mark Adair, Gary Wilson (c & wk), Gareth Delany, George Dockrell, Stuart Thompson, and Craig Young.

Preview:

Hong Kong made a tough start to the Oman Pentangular T20I series as they suffered back to back defeats. They lost by a big margin against the hosts Oman in the first match and struggled against Nepal in the second fixture. Hong Kong had Nepal four wickets down for 36 inside seven overs. However, the target was only 126 and there was on the pressure of the required rate.

In the game on Monday, the Hong Kong team will face Ireland who started off with a convincing win over the Netherlands on the first day of the tournament. However, the hosts Oman recorded what can be considered as an upset on Sunday. The Irish team fell a long way in the chase of Oman’s 173/9. Ireland got a rocket start in terms of run-rate but failed to capitalize on it.

Average first innings score: 150 (Last 6 T20Is played in the afternoon)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 5, Lost – 1

Ireland
80.00
Ireland has a better batting attack and more depth in its bowling.
Both teams have lost their previous match.
