Our Prediction
-
Shoaib Malik has been the Alone Warrior in the previous game, other players have to step up for a better performance from the side.
-
Quetta Gladiators have a strong batting line-up with the likes of foreign recruits Faf Du Plessis, Weatherald and Andre Rusell.
-
Both teams are desperate to win having lost their previous Encounter in this Tournament.
It was fairly a One-sided Encounter Yesterday, Islamabad United Made the Mockery of the Bowling and chased down the target with 10 overs to spare. In Today's Match Quetta Gladiators will take on Peshawar Zelmi at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Quetta Gladiators got off to a rather poor start to the tournament and just when it looked like they would finally get back to winning ways, the tournament was paused. Quetta Gladiators have to sort their batting as it collapsed drastically yesterday. It's not that the Gladiators do not have a strong team on paper. They have a decent team that has the likes of Faf du Plessis, Jake Weatherald, Andre Russell, and Azam Khan but they lack execution. Bowling Lineup looks a bit weak with Mostly Unexperienced Players like Zahid Mahmood, Hasnain and Naseem Shah. Qais Ahmed should be given a chance as he was very impressive in the initial part of the Tournament.
Peshawar Zalmi is coming off a rather uneventful loss in a match that they should ideally have won. They were good for the most part of the match but failed to cease a few good moments, which eventually turned the match against them. Peshawar also has a good batting lineup with Zazai and Kamran Akmal at the top with Haider Ali, Miller, Malik in the middle order. Rutherford and Powell will be assigned the finishing duties. Bowlers were good against the previous match picking up wickets at crucial intervals. Wahab Riaz will lead the attack for the Peshawar with Irfan, Umaid Asif and Imran Khan will help in this course. If they can play to their on-paper potential, they should not find it too difficult to register a win here.
PITCH REPORT
The conditions in Abu Dhabi are very hot. The start times have been delayed to try and make the playing conditions a bit more comfortable for the players but they will still challenge everyone. The pitch was very slow and difficult to score on in the first match. The Average Score is 150+ on this venue batting first.
TOSS PREDICTION
Every single team that has won the toss has opted to field first in PSL 2021. While this may change if the wickets in Abu Dhabi get slower, for the time being, it appears as if fielding first is the preferred strategy for all PSL teams.
