Kolkata Knight Riders will take upon Punjab Kings at Newly constructed Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat. KKR are having a Nightmare IPL till now and failed to get going with only 2 points to their name. Gill needs to find his form while Rana has also been not consistent. Tripathi has looked good but failed to make it a big one. Morgan form is one of the Major Issues for KKR as he has to lead from front. Russell showed his Power against CSK but he needs to come earlier to make more impact. Pat Cummins is out of form failed to pick up wickets upfront. Narine also needs to find his Rhythm and should give good Support to Varun. Krishna and Navi were impressive the other night.
Punjab Kings have won their previous encounter against Mumbai Indians and that should give them the lacking Confidence. Kl Rahul has been the Major player for Punjab if he sticks around other batters like Mayank , Gayle and Pooran can play around him. Pooran is going through a rough patch and has failed to score runs this IPL. Gayle looked in good touch scoring quick runs on a difficult pitch. Deepak Hooda and Shahrukh Khan has also been good in the death overs scoring quick runs. Shami has to find his form as he is their Premier bowler. Richardson was impressive with the bowl though has been a bit expensive. Inclusion of Ravi Bishnoi will strengthen the spin department as he has been Bowling well since the previous season .
PITCH REPORT
We expect the pitch in AHmedabad to have a decent amount of bounce and pace in it. It should allow for some exciting cricket to be played with scores that reach close to 180 in most matches. The batsmen will be able to dominate, however, the large boundaries will being the bowlers into play as well.
