Our Prediction
-
We question the Northern Superchargers batting lineup and think it could struggle once more
-
Both teams have won one match and lost another in the Hundred 2022 so far
-
Oval Invincibles are a team blessed with a fantastic bowling attack and some world-class all-rounders
The Oval Invincibles are going to be playing against the Northern Superchargers in this next The Hundred 2022 match. Both teams played two matches winning one and losing the other. The only time these two teams met against each other last season, the Northern Superchargers emerged victorious.
The Oval Invincibles have a good batting lineup on paper. Will Jacks smashed 81 in the previous match, Rilee Rossouw has been in good form and there is a good amount of depth in the lineup as well. Sam Curran, Tom Curran, and Sunil Narine are all capable of getting runs. The matter of concern will be Jason Roy and Sam Billings. We have been betting against Roy for this entire summer and that has proven to be consistently profitable so far. The bowling attack is also very good with the Currans, Narine, Hasnain, and Milnes in the playing eleven.
The Northern Superchargers lost their previous match against the Trent Rockets but the margin of that defeat could have been so much worse. Lyth and du Plessis got out for a duck and the team was 61 for 5 before David Wiese scripted a comeback with support from Roelof van der Merwe. Matty Potts is still finding his way in the shorter formats and Wayne Bravo is beyond his best. In fact, Roelof van der Merwe and David Wiese are also beyond their best with the ball. This puts a lot of pressure on Adil Rashid to come up with the goods every single time and that is just not going to happen.
PITCH AND CONDITIONS
The conditions in London are forecast to be absolutely brilliant for cricket. There is no rain predicted. The pitch is generally flat but this venue is not as high-scoring as some of the other ones that we have seen. The average score here is 127 and the average winning score batting first is 145.
