The Biggest Rivalry in the IPL i.e Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will take on each other at Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium. It will be a cracker of a match though both teams are contrasting from each other in this Tournament as CSK have struggled throughout the Tournament while on the contrary, Mumbai Indians have performed well in this Tournament and standing upon the expectations of the supporters. But you cant Underestimate CSK in any game as they have the experience and capability to beat any side on his day. Faf Du Plessis has been the highest run-getter for the CSK but he also failed to perform in recent games, he and Watson will hold the key for CSK as they both will start the proceedings with the bat. Experiment with Sam Curran opening has also backfired. Rayudu has to play with a lot more intent as be has been batting slowly at times. MSD has failed to perform getting out at crucial times. Jadeja has been the lone warrior for the Kings. Deepak Chahar has shown his capability to pick up wickets at the top of the order. Injury of DJ Bravo will be a concern as he was the main death bowler for the kings.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians Have all the bases covered in both bat and ball. Though in the previous encounter they loose to Punjab in a close encounter resulting in two super overs. Still, they will be happy to see themselves at the points table. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan have Struggled in the latter half of the tournament but Mumbai will be pleased with the form shown by Quinton De Kock, Suryakumar Yadav and Keiron Pollard. Bowling has not been the issue for Mumbai Indians due to presence of Quality International bowlers like Bumrah, Boult and Nathan Coulter Nile. Rahul Chahar has also impressed everyone with his leg-spin troubling the batters. Pandya Brothers also give the luxury with both bat and ball. Feilding also has been of top quality for the Indians.
PITCH REPORT
Sharjah is hosting a match after a pretty long time and the surfaces that were being used so rapidly would be renewed a bit. The ground already has pretty short boundaries and we might see a run-fest as we saw in the first few matches here. Dew has once again started to have a telling impact in the second innings and that could be the case again. Keeping all those factors into consideration, the team batting first here would want to put at least 170 runs on the board.
TOSS PREDICTION
Toss has played a crucial role in the tournament so far, but more often than not the team winning the toss has ended up taking the wrong decision. We saw that happen in the last two matches and both captains will be wary of that. Considering the nature of the surface and the other conditions, the captain winning the toss should elect to field first in this upcoming match.
