-
Hampshire will be missing the service of Colin De Grandhomme which might affect the team's Balance.
-
Hampshire would be heavily dependent upon Mason Crane, who was the leading wicket Taker for Hampshire the previous season and Troubling the batsman.
In the Third Match of the Opening Day of Vitality Blast 2021, Kent will be taking on Hampshire at St. Lawrence Ground in Canterbury. Kent has Daniel Bell Drummond as their main force with the bat. Drummond scored 423 last year and was the top scorer in the tournament. He was ably assisted by Zak Crawley, who much to the Side's disappointment, will be unavailable to play in the first few matches. They already had a decent bowling lineup comprising of Fred Klaasen and the addition of Qais Ahmed has certainly added to their strength. Mohammad Amir, who is also in the squad, will not be available up until the second half of the competition begins and Matt Henry Comes as a Replacement for Amir which would be handy for the Side. With the likes of Drummond, Billings, Joe Denly, and Alex Blake available right from the outset, Kent has a batting unit that is as good as any.
Led by James Vince, Hampshire has this time decided to buff up their batting unit. Last year, only one batsman managed to score an aggregate of a couple of hundred for them and owing to that, Hampshire has brought in D'Arcy Short to the scene. Apart from Short, they have also roped in Colin de Grandhomme to add firepower to their middle-order. Apart from Grandhomme, Vince, and Short, all eyes will be on Mason Crane who was Hampshire's leading wicket-taker last year. Bowling in tandem with Liam Dawson, Mason can be a handful. With four frontline spinners available, Hampshire can be a difficult candidate, especially on spin-friendly surfaces. They have buffed up their batting this year and should present a tough challenge to any opponents they face.
