This next match of TNPL 2021 is between two teams that appear to be among the weakest this season. As a result, this match is important to possibly avoid a last-place finish down the line. The previous match was a huge disaster for the Tamizhans and they were very lucky to escape with some points thanks to the rain. They were 64 for 7 before the match was called off, showing a lack of batting strength in the team. Aswin Crist, M Mohammad, and S Mohan Prasath help form a decent bowling unit. It did not get a chance to bowl at all in the opening match the team played but this could be a good opportunity to put pressure on the Salem Spartans.
Salem Spartans did not bat in their previous match but bowled close to their entire quota of overs. What we saw was not very impressive. G Periaswamy did quite well with the ball and M Ganesh Moorthy is also quite dependable. With the weak batting lineup of the Tamizhans in front of them, the Spartans could find bowling a lot easier in this match. Vijay Shankar is going to lead the batting lineup for the Spartans with support from Gopinath, Akshay Srinivasan, and S Abhishiek.
