After a rain-affected start to the TNPL, it looks like the weather has improved a little as we have got results in the previous three matches. Today is the First Double Header of the Tournament.
The Chepauk Super Gillies had their first match in the bag before the rain came down and spoiled things. Rajagopal Sathish picked up five wickets for just ten runs in his four overs to run through the opposition. Sonu Yadav, Dev Rahul, and Harish Kumar bowled quite well in that match. Kaushik Gandhi, N Jagadeesan, Uthirasamy Sasidev, Harish Kumar, and some useful all-rounders give the Chepauk Super Gillies quite possibly the strongest batting lineup of this tournament.
The Nellai Royal Kings were bowled out for just 77 runs in their previous match while chasing 151. We had expected a lot better from senior players like Baba Aparajith, Baba Inderjith, and Sanjay Yadav. There are some talented youngsters in the lineup as well. The bowling attack will have to be at its best to be able to keep the Chepauk Super Gillies from running away with the match. Athisayaraj Davidson, T Ajith Kumar, Sharan Kumar, and Sanjay Yadav all played in the previous match. This is a decent lineup but not one that we would back against the Super Gillies.
