
Indian women team remain unbeaten in the League Stage and go on top in GROUP B after defeating Australia by 43 runs on Saturday.
After winning the toss Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur chose to Bat first but India lose their first wicket early and Tania Bhatia didn't do well she scored only 2 runs in 7 balls while Indian opener Smriti Mandhana played a fabulous inning of 83 runs, she had a great partnership with skipper Harmanpreet which took them to 167.
In first 6 overs, Smriti's lofting and cutting with aplomb had raced to 37 off 22 balls in India's 46 whereas Harmanpreet lofted three clean sixes and struck as many boundaries in her 27-ball stay which yielded 43 runs.
While chasing Australian openers Vilani and Mooney didn't get a good start and they had a partnership of only 27 runs in the first four overs.

India's strength of spin, though, led the fightback once again, this time through Deepti's off-spin. In the fifth over, Deepti had both the openers off consecutive balls.
Meg Lanning slog sweep was taken well by Veda at deep midwicket, leaving Australia in big trouble by the halfway stage, needing 111 more with effectively six wickets in hand. Ellyse Perry kept the fight going with an unbeaten 39 but at no stage did India feel under threat from there on, as they kept their fielding energetic and catching safe throughout to get through to the semifinal on a high note.
Smrithi Madhana became player of the Match.
