Rajkot 4th October, Prithvi Shaw smashes a ton against West Indies at Rajkot on Day 1.
Opening Day of the test series in Rajkot was in favor of India. Prithvi Shaw debuted in style with a 99-ball hundred, it was a dream ton for Him. Prithvi Shaw debuted in Ranji Trophy at Rajkot and he scored a century on that day also. today He didn't play a single defensive shot in the first 16 deliveries he faced, that's how dominant he was at the start of his innings.
TOSS: India won the Toss and they chose to bat, they lose the first wicket early but after that Pujara and shaw dominated Windies with a 130* runs Partnership till Lunch.
Prithvi scored 134 runs in 154 balls with the other major contribution coming from Chiteshwara Pujara (86), they played 206-run second-wicket partnership. whereas Kl Rahul dismissed in the first Over, he scored a duck. The Indian captain Virat Kohli also scored unbeaten 72 on day 1.
Kohli put on 105 runs partnership with Ajinkya Rahane (41) as the duo looked to build innings after tea, but Ajinkya scored 42 and gave his wicket in the 84th over. Rahane was dismissed, a loose stroke off Roston Chase.
on the other side west indies captain misses the first test because of his ankle injury, Kraigg Brathwaite led the team today. Gabriel, Lewis, Bishoo, and Chase took 1 wicket each.
By stumps, India scored 364 for 4 and had a decent run rate of 4.09 runs per over. while Virat Kohli(72) and Wicket-keeper batsman pant(17) remain unbeaten on Day 1.
