Sunday 23rd September, Bangladesh won a thriller match against Afghanistan in last over on Sunday by 2 runs.
Toss, after winning the toss Bangladesh skipper Mushrafe Mortaza chose to bat because Afghanistan never won the match while chasing they totally depend on their bowlers but Afghanistan Batsman specially Shahidi made the match and the match became a thriller, in the last ball 4 runs were required but Mustafizur bowled so well and Shenwari missed the ball and that's how Bangladesh won the match.
Bangladesh openers again failed to put runs on the board in the first ten overs and once again they crumbled on 18 for 2. Bangladesh opener batsman Nazmul third time scored single digit run and Mohammad Mithun failed to utilize his chance at number 3. Middle-order batsman Mushifiqur Rahim(33runs) and Liton das(41runs) made a partnership of 63 runs but Liton fell to Rashid, in his first over. Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib and wicketkeeper Rahim they both run out. Mahmudullah joined the comeback man Kayes and they conjured up 128 runs for the 6th wicket. due to which Bangladesh put on a par score of 249 which was a respectable total.Mahmudullah played a good knock and scored 74 runs.
While chasing, Afghanistan also lost Inshahullah as their first wicket early. Mohammad Shahzad after reaching fifty he gave his wicket to Mahmadullah while trying to play a cut shot but he missed and the ball hits the stump.at one stage Afghanistan were 85 for in 25 runs. Shahzad departed when Shahidi was joined by Asghar Afghan. Skipper scored 39 runs and Shahidi played a good knock of 71 runs, his third consecutive fifty it was but the required run rate was increasing which was putting pressure on them.58 off the final 39 balls with Nabi and Shenwari in the middle meant, it could have been anyone's game.
Nabi though fell for a 28-ball 38 with 12 needed off 10 balls.rahid came to bat early because the game was in the hand of Afghanistan.in the final over 8 runs were required then Mustafizur came to ball the final over, in the first ball Rashid got out on a short ball. Wicket and the dot delivery build the pressure on Afghanistan now but Shenwari was still on the crease. Shenwari and Gulbadin Naib got only two runs off the next three balls leaving four to get off the final ball. Shenwari missed the final one and that's how Bangladesh won the match by 2 runs.
