West Indies Opener Even Lewis rejected a white ball contract for the upcoming 2018 to 2019 season.
This was announced on Monday by CWI(central west indies) while revealing the full list of players who have been awarded contracts across both men's and women's side.
Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, and Sunil Narine have all gone down this route in the past and have skipped national duty in favor of taking part in T20 leagues around the globe now Evin Lewis is joining them. These player refused national contracts for the Central West Indies for more t20 deals.
Evin Lewis has played 35 ODI's for the west indies team scoring 1010 runs, in t20 he scored 529 runs in 17 matches. he played in so many leagues like CPL, IPL, BPL, GLT20.
on the other side, 4 players have been offered contracts for all three formats -Jason holder, Shai hope, alizari Joseph, and Kemar Roach. Only three players have been given white-ball contracts - Carlos Brathwaite, Ashley Nurse, and Rovman Powell.
Courtney Browne(chairman of selectors)added- at the time of recommending contracts in June, some players would have developed in all the formats after the process has finished, so their recent performances can't be considered until the next contract cycle.
Johny Grave said- ''All Windies and Franchise players are now contracted from the 1st of July to the 30th of June, with their performances assessed from the 1st of April to the 31st of March''.
